Need to Know

There should be plenty of parking at the arboretum as well as restrooms and a gift shop/bookstore.

Description

From the arboretum parking lot, head north through the grass trail to the right of the entrance. You'll reach a branch in the path. To the west (left coming from the parking lot) is the River Birch Allee which will connect you to the other paths in the arboretum as well as eventually meeting back up with the Tuckahoe Valley Trail. To the north (straight ahead) or east (to your right) are the entrance/exit to the loop. You can go whichever direction you like and just keep following the path around until you end up back at the same intersection. The whole loop is just under a mile and is like hiking through your lawn, with low cut grass throughout.

Towards the northwest corner of this loop, you'll see signage for the Nancy's Meadow Cut. This short trail will drop you right off onto the north part of the Tuckahoe Valley Trail. If you're taking that trail and would like to be out in the open for a bit, this is a great little sidetrack you can do. You can choose to pick up the trail back at the cut where you came on, or hike out to the arboretum and find a different trail to take you back.

Flora & Fauna

There are bird houses, flowers, trees, and small animals throughout. A lot of the flora is labeled with signs, and some have descriptions. There were also a few pieces of art closer to the arboretum on this trail.
