From the parking lot, follow the obvious trail through the massive firs, hemlocks, and cedars.

The trail drops slowly, passing an algae-choked lake, where it turns north toward the river. Along the way, huge trees line the path with some of the giants lying prone.

As you close in on the river, bridges cross the wetlands until you arrive at the sandy bottoms of the river.
