Description

This 2.5-mile trail was converted from the Rock Island Railway, once held up by Jesse James. The Rock Island Branch connects S. 28th Street to Riverside Road. On this section, suburban homes peek through the trees. The trail parallels Pacific on its west side and 36 Highway on its east side. This trail section provides access to a stretching station, the south side of Fairview Golf Course, crosses the Belt Highway, runs along the west side of Skaith Elementary School, and ends at Riverside Road where a scenic trestle bridge is located.
