Description
The trailhead is not signed, but its easy to see the pullout and trail angling up through some scree. The trail starts out climbing through some woods and follows an old road for a few hundred yards. Look for a hiking symbol sign that marks where the trail leaves the old road. From there, it climbs steadily through mostly open hillside. It eases for a bit once it enters the forest again where you can also find some huckleberries. After 4 miles, it joins up with the Petty Mountain Trail (turn right to hike 2 more miles to the summit of Petty Mountain.)
Flora & Fauna
In the spring, the hillside is covered in balsamroot. Bighorn sheep frequent this area.
