Description

The Clearview Collingwood Train Trail is a crushed gravel, linear trail connecting Collingwood to Stayner in Clearview Township. It follows an abandoned rail line which used to be a part of the Ontario Simcoe and Huron Railway system, which connected Collingwood to Toronto. Prior to its abandonment in 1960, passengers enjoyed views of the tranquil landscape along the way.

Now used as a multi-use trail, hikers, bikers, and cross country skiers can enjoy this flat trail, stopping in either Stayner or Collingwood for lunch or a break.

You can start the trail either at Station Park in Stayner or at the Station Museum in Collingwood. Not only is this a scenic route, but you can learn more about South Georgian Bay's history. Some other things to look out for are the Harness Racing Ovals, Centennial Park, GNE Fairgrounds, lilac stands, and more! The trail runs through lovely forested areas and farmland.
