The climbs and descents on this well-marked trail are easily manageable for young kids. They will also enjoy the caves to peek into and the visitor center goodies at the end (or beginning).
Description
The trail starts behind the visitor center and makes its way into the hills. There are a couple of places to stop for a view and a couple of caves to peek into along the trail (the caves were closed because of a bat-carried disease). During the wetter seasons, there's a waterfall that you'll be able to get close to.
Our young kids did fantastic along the entire trail as there are natural and carved steps to help with climbs and descents. The trail ends with a final stair climb, and you're back at the visitor center where you can enjoy snacks and souvenirs for purchase, learn about the area, and visit some of the animals that live there.
Quick and easy loop! If you don't want to finish out the last bit, there's a marked cut-through to the trailhead just before the big bench.
