Features
Waterfall
Family Friendly
Relatively short if you start from the nature center and the top parking lot.
Need to Know
Costs $5 to park in any of the three parking lots inside Monrovia Canyon Park ($6 on weekends), but street parking is free on N. Canyon Blvd. Do not park up the street past the turnoff into the park; it is permit only parking.
Description
This is a beautiful canyon hike that can be shortened or lengthened by adding the
Bill Cull Trail. If you take the
Bill Cull Trail, start from the ranger station and turn left. Follow the slightly steep, winding trail until you reach an intersection with signs (about 0.2 miles) and take the right fork for the waterfall.
To shorten, just park further in by the nature center for a 1 mile hike that's well-shaded and good for kids and/or pets.
Flora & Fauna
Oaks, alders, bay and maple trees provide abundant shade. Watch for abundant poison oak. Bears and deer are common. Rattlesnakes are active in late spring and summer.
