The ski lift operates on most weekends. Check mtbaldyresort.com for details.

Description

To reach the road, take the Baldy Road #3N01 or the ski lift to Mt. Baldy Notch. The road begins just east from the restaurant up a slight hill. It heads south along the ridge, crosses a few ski runs, and continues steadily up to the summit of Thunder Mountain. There are nice views of Mt. Baldy to the north and the North Fork, Lytle Creek to the east. Shade is rather scarce from Jeffrey pines, lodgepole pines, and white fir. The road ends at the top of the chair lifts.

The Three T's Trail #7W06 starts about 0.1 miles west of the summit or 1.3 miles from the notch.

Flora & Fauna

Open forest of Jeffrey, sugar and lodgepole pines, white fir provide occasional shade. Watch for bighorn sheep.
