DuPont State Recreational Forest is a very popular multi-use, bi-directional trail system, so be on the lookout for horses and cyclists. It is normally open in any weather although it can close during extended periods of freeze/thaw in the winter.

Description

Stone Mountain Trail starts off of Rocky Ridge Trail then intersects with Switchback before starting the 600+ foot grueling climb to the top. The average grade of the climb is about 15% and it is upward of 30% at the top. The top offers 360-degree views of the forest in the winter and 180-degree views the rest of the year.

Steep climb with impassable area in the middle. Lots of flies and bees. Hike is great and challenging, but NO VIEW at the end because of overgrowth. 2.6mi — 1h 47m
