Need to Know

Ample parking around the Baseball field in Laurel Park. The trail crosses a stream several times, so be prepared to rock hop or get your feet wet. Also, the original path becomes lost towards the end, so prepare for an out-and-back or bushwhacking to connect with another trail.

Description

Many locals use this trail, which follows Indian Gap Run, until the trail becomes lost in brambles and downed trees. Early along the trail, just after the first stream crossing, there is the foundation and sluice of an old 19th Century mill along with some old stone walls.

Officially, on maps, the trail connects to the Reservoir Hollow Trail and would eventually even connect to the Indian Gap Trail. However, several storms and subsequent disuse have made the upper connecting portion impossible to follow. It is still possible to bushwhack to the other trails (which is permitted within the National Forest) but a very good GPS or tracking instincts are required to find the connection.
