Description

This is a good training or newbie trail. Starting at the San Ramon Sports Park, you hike to the dirt trail at the development edge, continuing along crossing Windermere Parkway to the Dog Park (additional start point with parking) and on to the ridge with a steady, easy climb after the initial drop (at the next left there is a gate you can go through for the first of many views) then back on the trail to another detour to a rocky point view.

Double back for the next steady climb to a tough climb up a knob hill overlook. Back on the trail, head downhill with a hairy hairpin turn on a rutted cow-trampled tread. Keep going to the toughest climb after a plateau behind the homes on Longleaf Drive. Take a break at the top of the hill for massive views and then continue for an undulating cow-pocked trail with a few more climbs and then on to a trail to a water tower before descending to the road for the asphalt trip back to the start!
