A pretty quick mix of single and doubletrack through the forest on the Helderberg Escarpment at Thacher Park.

Features -none-

Requires a $6 vehicle entrance fee or Empire Pass from May 1 to October 31.

Description

You can start this trail from just behind the visitor center which will lead through a couple broken up singletrack sections with pavement and grassy fields in between or you can park at the further parking lot.

Follow the obvious trails that are well marked with aqua green blazes and signage at each juncture and stay on the Long Path. It is fairly easy hiking for the most part but there are a few intermediate areas and one steep downhill, but plenty of easy doubletrack to break it up.

This trail ends at a parking lot and is generally an out-and-back; however it can be linked up with the Perimeter Trail to make a loop.
