It is safest to use this trail in the summer, as the cliffside path could be unsafe in the winter.
Description
This trail starts near the parking area by the bridge on Osloveien Road and heads east-northeast along the river. The trail rolls up and down in several places and there are one or two steeper sections to tackle, but overall it's fairly level. There are some sections of the trail that can be under water near the Langnes field if water levels in the river are high. This trail can be rather intimidating for some. It weaves near cliffs along the large river, and strong currents can be a little hard or scary for some. Just be sure to follow the path and do not wander off the trail.
The trail is quite easy around Langnes field at the north end of the route, but there are steep and rooty sections by Fossum Bridge and along the river. This trail ends at a stone marker remembering the Battle of Langnes: a battle of the Norwegian-Swedish War of 1814.
