Description
This old mule trail ascends through the Valle dell'Alpe (valley) through which a small stream runs. Hikers will encounter some steady climbs and steeper sections as they travel through a thick forest. There are a number of switchbacks, especially near the top. The path is filled with loose rocks and bumps to add to the challenge.
The top of this trail is near the Bellavista station on the Monte Generoso cogwheel railway where there is a great view of Lago di Lugano (lake). The cogwheel railway runs from the Capolago station near the shore of Lago di Lugano at (271 m/889 ft) to the summit of Monte Generoso (1,701 m/5,580 ft).
