Overview

The views from the peak of North Diamond are spectacular.

Need to Know

The trail is a loop beyond Diamond Peak, but it follows a very primitive trail. It would end down in the Cameron Pass Parking Lot.

Description

Using the Zimmerman Lake Trail parking lot, cross over Hwy 14 to Montgomery Pass Trailhead. The trail goes through mostly canopy-covered terrain with a steady incline until you reach timberline. Hang a left to a mostly unmarked trail—this is the faint North Diamond Peak Summit Route. Pay close attention to the cairns along the route. Follow the ridge until you reach the top of North Diamond Peak.

After taking in the views, simply retrace your steps to return to your vehicle.
