From the connector, the James Nickell Loop Trail continues along the ridge line, then drops almost to lake level and features a nice overlook of the Kentucky Lake. This trail is the "blue trail" on the Heritage Trail Network maps, following blue blazes, and makes for a nice add-on to the Brown Spring Loop.
