Description

This trail starts off Rt 44 at the marked trailhead parking lot. The bottom third is an old wagon trail that was once used for hauling down granite. The old quarry is located at the end of that trail. There is some water access for dogs in that section only, and none past it.

The trail turns steeper after that and borders the semi-closed Ascutney Mt. ski area. There are some great lookouts over the town of Windsor in this section. The trail ends at an old stone hut foundation, next to Brownsville Rock, an awesome lookout over Brownsville.

Steep first half, pleasant under shade of trees. Lots of uneven rocks. No real challenging parts but prolonged periods of solid cardio exercise. — 4h 10m
