Snowmobiles are allowed on this portion of the Pine Barrens Loop Trail, so keep an eye and ear out.

Description

From West Branch Trail/ Snowmobile Junction 41E, the trail travels west over Fred Jones Bridge. The trail turns left and follows the powerlines. At the next junction, you'll have 3 trail choices. Right will take you down the north section of the loop; this is also the snowmobile corridor. Straight (following the powerlines) will take you down to the south section of the loop. Left is a dead-end trail that hasn't had its trail markers removed.

Taking a right at this junction will bring you straight to the parking area/ Snowmobile Junction 41W. From the parking area, take the trail left; this will put you on the south portion of the loop. Snowmobiles aren't authorized on the south portion of the loop. The trail weaves through pine and scrub oak forest back to its junction beneath the powerlines.
