Description

A trail up the east side of Mt. Olga that traverses the fomer ski runs of the old Hogback Ski Area and leads to an observation tower at the summit.

Start from the parking areas along route 9 in the Hogback Mountain Conservation Area, and descend south a short distance from the road to the trailhead. There's a map kiosk near the beginning of the trail where it crosses the Rim Run and Cross Mountain Trail.

From here, the Tower Trail heads south along the side of Mt. Olga then turns west and ascends the mountain. It crosses and follows several of the the old downhill ski runs, now overgrown. At various points you pass the remains of the old ski lifts.

The summit, located in Molly Stark State Park, has a radio relay tower and a tall steel observation tower that gives a dramatic 360-degree view of the surrounding landscape.
