“Farm land for miles and miles but with a spectacular surprises along the way”— Joseph States
You can expect beautiful wooded areas on the northern end and waves farmland and a few tressels on the Sothern end of the Rail Trail. You can also expect to enjoy an ever-changing view of the Teton Mountain Range.
The Oregon Pacific Rail lines were established to provide tourist access to the Yellowstone and Grand Teton National Parks in 1908 and 1913.
The hiking surface is dirt and gravel but obviously, maintain easy RR grades throughout.
What can we say? Loads of farmland....
Trestles at 3.6 mi, 6.3 mi, and 19.4 mi. If you are afraid of heights just stay in the center. There are great views at each. This trail crosses 18 well-traveled roads, be careful at each.
