Family Friendly
It's a short hike. You can then head into town for ice cream.
Open year-round.
Description
When starting at the southern end of the trail at top in "The Heights", the trail starts with a descent, and it's ways down to the bottom. Then it's up, down, and up to a level section followed by another down and up. The trail finishes on a downhill to Forest Park Nature Center for a drink of water at the fountain. The fountain is turned off during cold months.
This trail is usually done as a down-and-back from either end for a total of 2.2 miles depending on how you want to finish, on an uphill or a downhill.
Flora & Fauna
There is poison ivy in the area so you'll want to stay on the trail. You might see a deer now and then.
