Description

The Closter Dock Trail is marked with an orange blaze and is a 360-foot climb/descent depending on which direction you hike.

The trail starts near the park office, cutting under the Palisades Interstate Parkway through a tunnel and descends to the Hudson River by the Alpine Picnic area and the Kearney House. The trail connects the Long Path: Section 1 to the Shore Trail
This was an old farm route used by the farmers to get their produce to the riverside docks. In WWI, troops marched down the trail to load troop ships at the river.
