Description

Red Root Forest Road is a forest road in the Lake Russell Wildlife Management Area. It's useful for connecting the Frady Branch and Lake Russell Trail systems to make some really long hikes.

From the Frady Branch Trail system, follow Latham Forest Road FS87C to a left on Sellers Forest Road FS193 to a right on Red Root Forest Road FS92 which becomes Nancy Town Lake Forest Road FS92.

It passes the Mountain Grove cemetery about one mile west of the eastern terminus at the Middle Fork Broad River. Mountain Grove was one of the towns that disappeared when the federal government acquired the land in the 1930's.
