The Post Canyon Recreation Area is a multi-use trail network formed of Hood River County property and a patchwork of State Park, USDA Forest Service, and private land. The area is also an ongoing tree farm operation, so be aware of potential closures. Expect traffic in both directions and yield appropriately.

Description

The Riordan Hill Road (Forest Road 1000) is one of the primary roads into the Post Canyon Trail Network. Along the way it provides access to the Family Man Staging Area along with many of the area's trails.

The Family Man Staging Area is easily accessible to regular vehicles, but the further in you travel, the steeper things become.
