Description

Enter through the gate off of Schultz Road, next to the small kiosk, and proceed along the fence behind the houses. Then cross over a creek (usually fordable), and keep left up the hill. The singletrack starts to get rocky as the views open up. At about 1/3 to 1/2 of the way up the climb, there is a picnic table that can make for a nice break.

The trail then heads into the pines and redwoods for a bit before reaching a "decoy" sign near the top (the wide trail to the right is obviously unused). Keep left instead and continue another 100 yards to the intersection with the Pig Flat Trail and Ridge Trail.

Watch out for poison oak as you go!
