Family Friendly
Kids can definitely handle this trail's gentle grades and manageable length.
Description
Loop A is the first loop you encounter when leaving the trailhead. For the first portion, the trail follows the lakeshore through dense forests comprised of maple, birch, hemlock, and oak along a mixed tread with gentle grades. Eventually, the trail reaches a junction where a right turn will send you across to the south side of the loop. From here, simply make a right and follow the trail as it meanders through more dense hardwood forest back to the trailhead.
Flora & Fauna
Keep your eyes peeled for various kinds of waterfowl on the lake, as well as deer, bear, and bobcats on land.
