Description

Out of Gas Trail is enjoyable in both directions, but for extra suffer points start it from the bottom of Main Street Trail. The first quarter mile is pleasant rolling singletrack. At the intersection with Lower Backside Trail, be prepared for a spicy entrance feature. Large boulders with deep ruts on steep grade guard the entrance to the remainder of the trail. Continue on rolling singletrack until you begin your climb out of the gully.

The last quarter of a mile will continuously become steeper until, as the trail name suggests, you are out of gas. The last 300 feet are notoriously loose.
