Description

The Upper Burner of Stovetop is above (north of) the Powerlines.

Together with Scarface Trail, Deerslayer Trail and either Lower Burner or Foxx Rocks Trail, it makes up the main Piedmont loop, from which all other trails spur off.

Upper Burner is a rough, rooty, rocky handbuilt trail and it's definitely not all smooth sailing.

Coming from Scarface, take a right at the signed trail intersection to get onto Upper Burner. You wind your way around the hills, several bridged stream crossings, some bermed switchbacks, and then eventually cross the under powerlines. At the far side of the powerlines, you'll intersect Stovetop Lower Burner
