Description

This trail passes through various habitats and by evidence of the McCune Farm. Around mile 1, Hikers can see a stone foundation and an old springhouse and pond that serve as remnants of this working farm. The trail runs along the highest ridge in the park.

The first half of the trail is very easy hiking along a wide, well-maintained trail. At the halfway point, there is a bench with a nice view overlooking the Youghiogheny River Valley. The second half of the trail is narrower with some inclines and is heavily forested with no more vistas, so feel free to turn back at the bench overlook if you're not looking for something wilder.

The second half of the trail does include some old boulders, including one around 30 feet high that you can climb to the top.

This is a lightly used and secluded trail, and it is a loop that brings you back to the small parking lot (which may fit 3-4 vehicles) at the trailhead.
