Description

Located on the border of Virginia and West Virginia, the only thing easy about this trail is the access. Shuttle parking is available at the lot on top of Shenandoah Mountain off Route 33 and in the Brandywine Lake Recreation Area at the bottom. With a short section of Shenandoah Mountain Trail, High Knob is not for the faint of heart.

The trail is full of steep chutes packed with loose rocks and gnarly exposure, and beautiful views. High Knob Trail will entertain the more adventurous hiker and is perfect for folks trying to test their abilities.

There's a big beautiful fire tower with a 360 view at the very top, which does require some uphill hiking to satisfy your thirst for beauty.
