Dropping off Shenandoah Mountain from Flagpole Knob, Red Diamond begins at the top of the world. Expect spectacular views and a steep descent to Hone Quarry Recreation Area.

This trail can be accessed by taking the pavement on Rt. 257 to the saddle and heading north on FR 85A to Flagpole Knob. The trail breaks off the fireroad with a hard right turn and a steep downhill.
