Description

The Sky Pilot is a fun trail no matter which direction you hike it. Near the middle of the trail, you'll cross the North Country Trail, a national scenic trail that leads from North Dakota to New York.

Stop at the NCT crossing, check out the trail sign and reflect on the numbers of hikers that have traversed the longest (when completed) continuous hiking trail in the United States.

On Sky Pilot Trail, you can also take a detour onto the Fire Tower loop and take in the old Udell Fire Tower as well as add on a mile or so of trail and end up at the bottom of the Sky Pilot.

The Sky Pilot Trail is host to a secret pond in the Udell that has been known for black bear sightings as well as a few mosquito sightings, too.
