Description

This trail probably has the most dramatic start. It starts off Little Rock City Rd. Little Rock City is a series of large house size boulders that are falling off the plateau. The start of this trail drops down through a narrow slot between two of these house size boulders.

After this short beginning, there is a T-junction. To the right is a tour through the rocks, but head left instead.

This section is up and down and quite rocky. You are below the rim so all types of boulders are littered about. Although it briefly lets up on the rocky stuff, it throws one last harrah at you just at the point where a short connector comes in from the left from Eckert Rd. which is hard to see when you are looking at all those rocks on the trail. Note: there is a nice walk-in campground on that side connector.

This trail used to descend all the way to the valley, but a tornado wiped that all out in 2010. So this section currently ends where a junction to the Tornado Bypass Trail is on your left. The section straight ahead is to be closed off.
