The trail starts on BLM land along the creek and works its way towards the trees. This area sees a lot of grazing, so the trail can sometimes be confused with other paths. Use of the Hiking Project mobile app can be very helpful here.

Once you hit the trees, the trail can be hard to follow, so watch for cairns and continue to work your way up the creek beds. From here, you'll experience lots of great meadows and views along the way, and you should have it all to yourself.

Beware of thunderstorm conditions as you crest the saddles since there is little protection on the upper parts of the trail.
