DuPont State Recreational Forest is a very popular multiuse, bi-directional trail system, so be on the lookout for hikers, horses, and bikers. It is normally open in any weather although it can close in extended periods of freeze / thaw during the winter.

Description

Rifle Trail is a wide trail with a few small obstacles. When done from the trailhead off of Sky Valley Road, it is a steady climb from the road to the trail's junction with Hickory Mountain Road.
