The absolute best singletrack trail this area has to offer.

Description

Comanche starts at the Mack Dick Pavilion, but the Comanche Mid section can be accessed at Water Crossing #1 or at the Chinaberry Picnic area. Comanche Mid begins with a steady climb that does not relent until you reach the base of the Fortress Cliff. Once you have reached the "top" the trail offers twisty ups and downs and some rugged sections thrown in for spice. Don't give up - it is worth the price.

The East side of the Canyon offers a totally different Palo Duro experience to the super smooth and rolling Givens, Spicer & Lowry Trail, with long climbs, sections of exposure, and views that you'll have to stop to take in. There are even sections of trees on the trail that will make you think that you are in mountains, only for a little bit, however.

The Full Comanche Trail has everything one could want in a trail: Smooth & rolling sections, rugged sections, climbs, descents and switchbacks... all in a singletrack package with amazing views, and options. Hike possibilities are endless... short, medium, long, out-n-back, loops. This is the best that Palo Duro has to offer.

Mid ends at the Rock Garden Trail, sort of. It intersects Rock Garden and you can go up or down Rock Garden or you can continue on to Comanche Trail South.
