Description

Beginning at French Pass and ending on Park County Road 54, Michigan Creek Road, French Pass Trail begins as a high alpine descent to a creek crossing at timberline, then descends a steeply to CR 54 in Park County.

The initial drop from French Pass is steep and typically a snow packed cornice until mid-summer. After this initial section, French Pass Trail is a wonderful, if not a bit primitive descent.

The trail crosses a creek just below timberline approximately 1 1/2 miles from the pass. There is a short climb from the creek to the remaining old-school doubletrack descent to Michigan Creek Road

Turned around shortly before the pass as the wind was fierce & the last section under more snow. Beautiful views the whole way. — 3h 30m
