Description

This trail connects Laurel Canyon Trail and Bommer Ridge Road. It it the closest access is the high point Ridge Park via Bommer Ridge Road. The lower end can be accessed via Laurel Canyon Trail from the Willow Staging Area parking off Laguna Canyon Road (133). This one is singletrack all the way, and I hate to post it here cause it's never busy, I've never even run into anyone else on this trail at the same time. Considering how crowded South Orange County is, I don't understand this, but I love it. Hike up it if you just need to get from point A to B. It only climbs 300 ft. over 1.2 miles, so it's not a good training climb. Downhill, it's the perfect gentle grade and fun to test how fast you can really hike downhill before fear of faceplanting reigns you in. It's fun. And then you get to head right into Laurel Canyon Trail for even more fun downhill. This trail makes the boring climb up Bommer Ridge Road worthwhile.

Flora & Fauna

Typical SoCal critters. Watch out for rattlesnakes. I seen 'em. And supposedly mt. lions. I ain't seen 'em. But I'm guessing you usually don't cause they're sneaky.

Started at Ridge Park entrance, so hiked more than just Lizard Trail, but highlighting this one because it was a short, but challenging gem. 4.7mi — 1h 45m
