There is some cattle grazing that goes on in the area. I've never seen them, but I have spotted plenty of fresh cakes.

Description

This is a great forest canopy trail network of trails. It's not too technical but there are some rocky sections, and it's heavy on the loam in many places. Look for some truly great features like handmade rock bridges and walls.

There is some exposure but not anything too hairball. Due to clear cutting in the past, there are many places lend some spectacular views from an otherwise dense canopy.

This Trail follows an old irrigation ditch so it is fairly flat. There is a good climb in the middle that saddles out and gives way to a fun downhill section.

The starting point is at the Big Tree parking area. There are other ways to link up to and start this trail. Big Tree is the high point option. A good return trail (loop) option from the far end is to link up with the Truckee Ditch Extension Trail and Sandusky Trail.
