To get to the Garden Canyon Trail from the Idaho side, begin at the North Indian Creek trailhead, located off of Palisades Reservoir. Travel up North Indian Creek for over four miles until you come to a sign that will direct you to the left (north/west) to Garden Canyon. The four plus mile stretch to Garden Canyon will have a couple of creek crossings. To the right (east) across the creek will take you up into the back of the North Indian Creek Canyon. It is worth venturing up that trail a hundred yards to get a great view of the canyon you just made your way up.

Almost immediately as you enter into Garden Canyon, you'll realize why it is named a garden. This canyon is spectacular and even in September, you can find lush pockets of wildflowers up higher. Multiple waterfalls can be both heard and seen, including a staircase waterfall. In September of 2017, there were 3 active waterfalls counted.
The trail starts off relatively flat and then gets steeper as you start to turn west. Work your way north until you get up to the Garden Ridge trail. The views will not disappoint.

There are too many plants to name, just about any type of wildflower you might see in the Rocky Mountains you'll see here! Deer, elk, mountain goats and bears are in the area too.
