Description

This is a pretty easy trail with only one ascent and descent as it makes its way up and over Hattaway Mountain.

In the summer, this trail can be hard to follow due to the heavy canopy of leaves, but bring the Hiking Project mobile app and you'll find your way.

Flora & Fauna

Visit this area in the autumn to see it erupt in fiery fall color.

Nice trail with okay views from the top. Difficulty depends on which way you choose to ascend, but I think taking a right at the fork will lead to a slightly more challenging climb. I combined this trail with others to make an 8.4 mile (there and back) hike starting at the top of Morrow Mountain and heading down the Morrow Mountain Trail. I took a left on the Laurel Trail which reconnects with the Morrow Mountain Trail, which then ends at the parking lot. I crossed the street and walked the road a little to find the Hattaway Mountain Trail, completed the loop and returned to hike back up the Morrow Mountain Trail, completing the Mountain Loop Trail near the top of Morrow Mountain. Fun hike. Feb 9, 2018
