Great creekside descent when combined with Piquett Ridge. I suppose you could hike up from the bottom.
Assuming you are starting from the saddle, this is the steepest part of the hike. The first side hill is a little loose before becoming rocky lower down. Once in the trees the trail mellows; the Forest Service rebuilt the trail a few years back and it came out great.
Expect to get your feet wet. The trail crosses back and forth across the creek several times.
