Snow and trees limits the season to June through October.
Description
A trail through gorgeous North Idaho scenery. The trail follows and crisscrosses Independence Creek. Along Independence Creek there are about 14 stream crossings.
This is a classic creek hike with a gentle grade along the creek, but don't let this fool you into thinking it is an easy hike. There are lots of little ups along the way that don't really show on the profile.
About 3/4 of the way, the trail will bear right up the hill and leave the creek. Another trail continues along the creek and is worth checking out. From here the trail will climb to the road on a moderate grade. The trail will end at the road.
Make sure you are prepared for wet feet. Also there is Snowbird road that is a bailout option about halfway if for some reason you need to escape.
