Description

This is very popular with mountain bikers, be aware of your surroundings and respect other trail users.

The Pacific Rim Trail is a link between Shelter Cove Road and the Paradise Royale Loop.

Start counter-clockwise on the Pacific Rim Green Loop, turning left on the Pacific Rim Trail. The climbing begins right away with a continuous climb up to Paradise Ridge. Hike through short, steep climbs punctuated by quick descents to another extended (less steep) gradual climb. The grade steepens again as you reach the high point of the trail. From here its fun as you traverse the ridge, crossing below Queen Peak.

Dont forget to take in the mesmerizing views of the Pacific Ocean before the descent into the dense forest. You'll navigate a series of switchbacks before reaching the trail intersection on the east side of the Paradise Royale Loop.

From here you can retrace your hike in the opposite direction or continue on to the Paradise Royale Loop.

Not a good loop trail. Hike to the peak, traverse the ridge, but don’t drop down unless you’re connecting or on a bike. Too long and nothing to see… 8.2mi
