Need to Know

The Cohutta Springs Conference Center's trail system is free to use, even if you're not staying at the Center. Free trail maps are available at the hotel front desk, where you should get a parking pass for the day. We were told that this excellent and beautifully maintained area is affiliated with a large religious denomination, and sometimes is closed to the public during large retreat sessions. It is advised to call ahead.

Description

To access this loop trail, park at the hotel parking lot, and hike back up the paved road approximately 30 yards and the trail is to the right. Free maps are available at the front office.

Head over the dam and the singletrack begins after that. It's a short climb and a nice warm up around the lake to prepare for the rest of the trails. An early connector leads to the Bear Trax Trail and the North Ridge Trail intersects at the midway point. The singletrack eventually ends at a paved road that heads east to the Deer Run Trail. To complete the Lake Side loop, follow the road west as it winds back to the start near the dam.
