Family Friendly Easy trail, paved road access and lots of area to ramble.

Description

This is an easy trail from the parking area to the top of the peak. This follows the hiking trail but there is also a large gravel road which you can follow to the top alternatively. You pass through a small portion of forest but are mostly in alpine meadows with abundant wildflowers, with peak bloom from mid-June to mid-July. There are excellent views right from the TH, but they are even better from the top.

Flora & Fauna

Lots of wildflowers, including lupines, columbines, Columbia lilies, larkspur, Sitka valerian, thistles and penstemon. Lots of birds.
