Description

As mapped, this short loop starts and ends at the Mission Trails Regional Park Visitor Center. Hikers will initially descend on a rutted singletrack and cross a seasonal creek, navigate around a small knob, then find the trail going parallel to the San Diego River bed.

When the climb begins, the trail starts to widen and veers to the south toward Mission Gorge Rd. At the large gravel parking lot, hikers will again find narrow singletrack on the left as they navigate their way back to the visitor center.

Alternatively, hikers can begin this loop by starting at the large gravel parking lot at the intersection of Mission Gorge Road and Jackson Drive.
