Family Friendly This intermediate trail offers plenty to keep the kids occupied and interested.

Description

This is a great family-friendly trail to the Wind Cave. Hikers will enjoy singletrack most of the way. While there are a few areas of steep trail, there's nothing above an intermediate skill level. It's a great trail to challenge adults, teenagers, and youngsters (5+) alike.

In spring and early summer, there's plenty of water to drink (after filtering of course) and to cool off your head and feet. Enjoy the small waterfall near the top!

A word to the wise: bring snacks. While this trail isn't very long, it can easily take 4 hours round-trip depending on your skill and fitness level.

Still snowy, be prepared to walk a good portion of the road. It is pretty though! 3mi

We did stop at the cave for a while. The trail had a rain the night before so it was not dusty. 3.3mi

Trail was muddy and the last mile was snowy. The cave had too much water coming out to enter but a beautiful hike. 3.3mi

Trail was dry to start with, turned to mud, then turned to ice. By the time we hit the cave we were walking in snow. The cave was excellent.
