Description

Park at the Salt Point State Park Woodside campground parking lot. The trail starts at the far end of the parking lot and climbs steadily to the highest section of the park. About 3/4 of a mile up, you'll see some water tanks. Stay right at the water tanks to stay on this trail; the more obvious path actually takes you on Water Tank Trail to North Trail and the Pygmy Forest.

The gravel/dirt road is well-maintained and has shade most of the way. It ends at the intersection of Prairie Trail and South Trail in a beautiful prairie at the top of the park.
