Description

The first section runs fron the top of Pollock Mountain down to an intersection with Rapid River Ridge #178 before continuing on its own.

The second section of the descent off the ridge is a steep downhill. The trail starts on the open ridge and then descends into alpine fir trees. After this, you'll enter into some very nice groves of old growth trees that grow in the river valley, making for a pleasant and shaded section for hiking.

You'll cross some old logging roads and also the trail uses an old logging road down near the bottom. Be aware of these roads to make sure you don't accidentally turn onto them since it can be confusing.
